About Us Welcome to Coolebah Creek Quarter Horse and Quarter Pony Stud. Coolebah Creek is a small stud located 20 klms south west of Maryborough QLD in the small community of Mungar, just two and half hours north of Brisbane. Coolebah Creek horses run on 41 grassy acres, mostly cleared with scattered trees for shade and protection, there is also six acres consisting of natural bushland. Coolebah has four dams supplying water to all large paddocks and a natural creek which flows from time to time within the bushland. We have six broodmares, all are AQHA (Australian Quarter Horse Association), AQPA (Australian Quarter Pony Association) Australian White Horse and or Palomino Registered. All broodmares, stallions, colts and geldings are ridden, trained and socialize regularly. All horses are handled, trained, and broken using natural horsemanship skills. Coolebah Creek training and handling methods are based on the scientific principles of Learning Theory combined with an understanding of the Psychology of horses and how they naturally communicate with each other. This understanding shows us how to motivate horses to willingly work with us without the need for force, just as they do naturally with each other. The common problems of defensive behaviours such as pulling, resistance, biting, kicking, bucking, shying, nipping, not loading, pulling back etc. are resolved, as horses become more confident, receptive and easier to handle in every way. This is the foundation training for success. Coolebah Creek strives to breed working bred Quarter Horses and ponies with laid-back temperaments, natural cow sense, versatility, athletic ability and with the added bonus of colour. Our brood mares have been chosen for their kind willing natures, sound conformation, good hard feet, neat smart looking heads and a smooth easy to ride gate. Although we do our best to make sure our description and prices of our horses are correct and up to date, we reserve the right to alter/change any details/prices at any given time of any of our horses on our site, as horses are weaned, broken-in, trained, shown and campaigned, their prices may alter to suit their progress. Inspections are invited by appointment only, please feel free to ring for any information required, best time for contact is after dark. Thank you for your interest.
